If you love extraordinary wine paired with Farm to Table food, you’ll want to reserve your spot in the Sourwood Inn’s Revana Wine Tasting Weekend, April 29th – May 1st. This wine tasting event is unique in that Revana Family Vineyards spans over three site-specific areas, including the iconic Napa Valley in California, the Dundee Hills of Oregon, and the Uco Valley in Argentina. So whether you’re looking for a weekend of good food and wine, outdoor activity, relaxation, or even a history lesson on wine, this is the perfect weekend getaway for you.
Revana Vineyards Story
Revana Family Vineyard was established in 1997 and is part of a portfolio of wine-growing estates founded by Houston Cardiologist Dr. Madaiah Revana. His vision has been to produce world-renowned, site-specific wines from exceptional vineyards. He has accomplished exactly that with three remarkable brands, each named on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 lists.
About the Vineyards
Revana
Revana Vineyard is dedicated to exploring the potential of Cabernet Sauvignon. This vineyard includes 10 acres in the St. Helena American Viticultural Area. Fruit is also sourced from some of the best vineyards in Rutherford, Stag’s Leap District, and Howell Mountain. The Revana Estate Vineyard is situated in a prime part of St. Helena, where deep, well-drained alluvial soils pair with warm days and cool nights.
Alexana
Under the guidance of Winemaker Brian Weil, Alexana’s 80-acre Revana Estate Vineyard is situated in the heart of the Willamette Valley. It is one of the most geologically diverse vineyard sites with 55 planted acres on 18 different soil types. The vineyard is dry-farmed and sits between 320 feet and 650 feet elevation. The farming practices are LIVE Certified sustainable and are applied to cultivate ultra-premium fruit including 11 different clones of Pinot noir, two different clones of Chardonnay, and one clone of Pinot Gris.
Corazon del Sol
The 17-acre vineyard is located at the base of the Andes at an elevation of 3,000 feet. A visually stunning background, the Andes are also responsible for the incredibly deep, alluvial soils which define the estate vineyard. Made up of rock and sand, which has eroded from the Andes Mountains over millennia, these soils are extremely deep and well-drained. The results include a wine that has great complexity, power, and finesse.
Famed winemaker Santiago Achaval crafts the vineyard-driven wines from estate plantings of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.
