To our valued guests,
As COVID-19 continues to have an impact around the world, we feel that it’s important for us to update our guests on the steps we have taken to help keep our guests and staff safe and healthy. At the Sourwood Inn, we adhere to the highest cleaning standards possible. We are continually monitoring our procedure to ensure that our guests feel a sense of security when staying with us.
We are happy to announce that all local COVID-19 indicators continue to improve in Buncombe County. Effective March 7, 2022, we are no longer requiring guests and staff to wear masks. With our many spacious common areas, outdoor porches, nature trails, and your private balcony, we feel our property has plenty of areas for you to safely distance.
During the past two years, our guests came to appreciate the refresh procedure that we used which allowed guests to request towels and amenities and to have the trash removed each day without staff entering your room. We are continuing this refresh procedure as well as adding an optional “Daily Room Touch Up” service where our staff will enter your room. You can ask for this service when making your reservation or let us know when you check-in which service you would prefer.
As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Details of the Precautions – March 7, 2022
For the safety of our guests and staff, we have implemented additional operating procedures that comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state, and local evolving guidelines, as well as those suggested by hospitality industry experts. These procedures include breakfast services, guest room housekeeping, and common area procedures to supplement our already rigorous processes.
Your Arrival
When you arrive at the inn, our check-in desk is just to the left of the front door. The Great Room has plenty of room for you to safely distance yourself from other guests checking in or sharing the same common area. Our Innkeeper will be there to greet you and to give you a tour of the property. Your room key will be disinfected.
Breakfast
The same delicious breakfast buffet awaits you! We have expanded other dining tables into the common areas to maintain a safe dining distance from other guests.
Dinner
Our dinner option is served to you each evening Thursday- Sunday. Our dining room set-up as well as outside dining in the warmer months allows plenty of space between other tables.
Housekeeping
Every time a guest checks out, that room is aired out, deep cleaned, and prepared for the next guest. For daily housekeeping you have the option of Daily Room Touch Up where our housekeeping staff enters your room each morning for a refresh or, we can provide a tray that organizes any items you may need during your stay without our staff entering your room. The tray includes a bag to remove any accumulated trash, used towels, and an order form to order more toiletries, fresh towels, or any other items you may need during your stay. Our housekeeping staff will fill these orders daily.
Common Spaces
All common spaces and high touch areas will be cleaned multiple times daily and disinfected using the Essential M.I.S.T Fogging and Sanitizer. This sanitizer is an EPA registered, NSF certified safe and hospital-grade disinfectant.
Hand sanitizer is available in every common space.
Thank you for your help in making Sourwood a safe destination and cheers to a great stay at our mountain lodge.
