Geek Out Asheville | June 6th – 8th
Asheville is one of the country’s best hotspots for outdoor freaks, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have special love our indoor geeks too! Geek out with cosplay, puppetry, comic books, movie props, and more geektastic excitement for your inner nerd. Asheville Percussion Festival | June 20th – 22nd

The 3rd annual Asheville Percussion Festival will take over the Diana Wortham Theater and Downtown Asheville’s OM Sanctuary during this weekend long event. Feel the rhythm during free public events, or participate in one of twenty-two workshops led by world renowned faculty. $75 will buy a weekend pass to all workshops and concerts. This is a once in a lifetime experience for drum enthusiasts.
Shindig on the Green | June 28th (continues Saturdays through August)
It’s the 48th consecutive season of Shindig on the Green. Catch the opening ceremonies on Saturday June 28th. From 7-10 PM, the new Pack Square Park gathers locals and visitors alike to share in the music and dance traditions of Southern Appalachia. Shindig on the Green was voted “#1 Local Outdoor Concert” three years in a row (2006, 2007, 2008) by readers of Asheville’s own Mountain Xpress, and it’s still one of Asheville’s most defining local events.
