Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ Sourwood Inn

We look forward to seeing you at Sourwood Inn!
Keep this helpful information in mind for your next visit with us.
Frequently Asked Questions for the Sourwood Inn.

What standard features are included in a guest room?

All twelve of our guest rooms have a private bath and bathtub with a view, balcony, and wood-burning fireplace (seasonal). Our Sassafras Cabin includes a screened-in porch, two full baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, a living/dining area, bedroom loft, and wood-burning stove.

Sourwood Inn is located at 3200 feet elevation and summertime evening temperatures usually fall into the 60′s. However, due to unpredictable temperatures and the warming of our planet, we now have put A/C in all the guest rooms. Of course, you may not need it. All the rooms have French doors and a ceiling fan.

Do you allow children?

We welcome children over 12 years of age.

Do you allow pets?

We do not allow outside pets, but our resident dogs would love your attention.

Will I get cell phone service?

Yes, you will have cell phone service. Some carriers have better service than others.

How about wifi?

Yes, we have Wifi available in all common areas of the Inn.

How do I get there?

The Inn is located off the beaten path – so we very much encourage following the directions we provide on our website! Although GPS systems vary, most navigate well to our street address. Please be advised that our entrance is a gravel road marked with Sourwood Inn signage on either side. Be careful not to turn down any unmarked roads when trying to locate us – you might find yourself lost!

Can Uber or taxi services access the Inn?

It can be difficult for Uber and taxi drivers to find the Inn if they are not familiar with our location – a wrong turn could wind up costing dollars and frustration. However, we can personally recommend a car service we have utilized, who knows our location well, if the need arises.

What about meals?

Each morning we serve a hearty, delicious breakfast from 8:00-9:30am, with coffee and tea always available by 7:00am. We also serve afternoon refreshments daily. Both breakfast and afternoon refreshments are included with your stay.

Dinner is available by reservation, Thursday through Sunday evenings. Under the direction of our Executive Chef you can expect contemporary regional cuisine made with the best and freshest local products available. Menus and pricing are available on our dining page.

*Dietary/allergy restrictions: With adequate notice, we are glad to accommodate allergy and dietary restrictions. Please specify details upon booking your stay at the Inn so that we may make adjustments to your meals.

What about Alcohol?

Hooray! We now have a beer or wine license, which allows our guests to consume wine and beer throughout our property, sold to them by the Sourwood Inn. In the past, pre-licensing, we have invited our guests to bring their own alcoholic beverages to consume on the property during their stay. While we still invite you to bring your own if you wish, any alcoholic beverages brought to the Inn by our guests must be consumed in the privacy of the guests’ rooms to comply with licensing requirements and restrictions.

We are also permitted to sell wine and beer TO GO to our guests and to the community.

We are very excited to have wine and beer available, as we spent many years importing and distributing wines in Florida. We hope you will find our selection of wines and beers interesting and enjoyable!

What is your cancellation policy?

We do hope you’re able to keep your reservation, but we appreciate that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can prevent your visit. If you need to cancel your reservation, we ask that you contact us seven days in advance; additionally, please note that 30-day advance notice is required for all October through November 15th reservations.  If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the check-in date (excluding October through November 15th), 50% will be charged to the credit card on file.  If cancellation occurs within 30 days of the check-in date for October and up to November 15th, 100% will be charged to the credit card on file.  There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends.
