Downtown Asheville

Don’t miss Downtown Asheville as you begin your day. Decked out in it’s finest greenery, Winter Wonderland at the Grove Arcade http://www.grovearcade.com/ hosts the annual National Gingerbread House Competition and is definitely not to be missed!  Looking for artistic gifts?  The Downtown Arts District www.ashevilledowntowngalleries.org/ will be hosting their Gallery Stroll from 5:00-8:00 PM on Dec.5 with over 20 art-filled galleries.

Holiday Performing Arts

If you love performing arts Asheville is the place to be in December!  One performance not to be missed is the traditional Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker, being performed with spectacular scenery and costuming on Dec.10 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. (828) 259-5736)  Beginning on Dec.6 is The Christmas Carol, Dicken’s classic tale of greed and redemption, presented by The Monford Park Players at the historic Masonic Temple www.montfordparkplayers.org/  in downtown Asheville.  Biltmore at ChristmasOn Dec.6 and 7, the Asheville Contemporary Dance Theater will perform a creative and unique interpretation of The Nutcracker and the Mouse KIng. www.dwtheatre.com.  For a lovely afternoon of classical music you may want to attend A Classical Christmas by the Asheville Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 14 at 3:00 PM. www.ashvillesymphony.org.  Asheville Christmas and holiday events are always a treat!
